Description

This is a joint side event organized by the UN Voluntary Fund for Indigenous Peoples (Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights) and the Association Ak’ Tenamit. The theme focuses on the role of the Indigenous Fund in promoting indigenous participation in UN processes like the Climate Change, and Indigenous Youth and a Just Transition to Green. Since 2019, The indigenous Fund has been mandated to provide support to Indigenous Peoples participation into COP and LCIPP meeting. During the side event, participants will learn how to access the Fund

in order to participate in relevant UN meetings and processes and at the same time, listen from former grantees of the Fund to learn how their participation in UN meetings/processes has impacted their work. In the same vein, a deep dive on just transition to green and indigenous youth will follow through.
