Indigenous Women's Time. Weaving strategies to stand together against the climate crisis.

  • Indigenous Peoples Pavilion - COP28 Blue Zone, Zone B7, Building 88 (map)

Organisation

Women of the Métis Nation

Description

Our event proposes to bring Indigenous Women's voices from across the globe. We envision an international floor where Indigenous women can elaborate on future strategies to tackle climate change impact. Beyond the economic realities, shared knowledge and struggles join us as a worldwide empowered community.

We will elaborate on what we need to keep empowering Women and girls to be an active voice in the decision-making process in their communities, preserving the cultural practices and teachings.

We want to define how to bring Indigenous traditional knowledge to decision-making and build nation-to-nation bridges with governments and industries, prioritizing UNDRIP principles.

We plan to have three to four triggering questions that reflect our vision and open them to discussion. We will have a moderator to guide the conversation constructively, highlighting what brings us together.
