Indigenous youth involvement in ecosystem restoration is crucial for the sustainable future of their lands and homes as the present and future custodians of the earth. Engaging the youth fosters a sense of ownership and connections to their lands, provides them with opportunities for learning and skill development, leads to positive socio-economic impacts, inspire innovations to deal with climate change impacts among other benefits.

It is important that they are actively involved to take up active roles in shaping the future of their lands and the ecosystems in which they live in.

This side event will address this and more of meaningful and effective youth participation.
